Children who play with marble runs today will do so tomorrow too! It is a toy that interesting for years remains and countless combinations offers. First, the parents help with assembly, later the older siblings support the little ones.

Each child is unique — just like their development. These milestones indicate at what age children can use Kullerbü, where they may still need help, and from when they can assist with the setup.

First rolling fun for 1-year-olds

Kids from the age of one already understand simple prompts, explore the world on all fours, and watch eagerly as you set up the first marble run. They …

  • can't yet help with the setup, but they inspect every ball closely

  • have great fun rolling the balls back and forth,

  • reach deliberately for 'interesting' objects & make themselves noticed during play — e.g., by pointing with their index finger at you, their favorite snack, or a ball.

Setting up the right marble run for 1-year-olds

Children from the age of one reach for the balls with great joy and concentration, place them gently on the track, and watch in amazement what happens. This is how you set up the right track for them:

Domino bowling for 2-year-olds

2-year-olds are now trying many things for the first time and experience new aha moments every day. For example, they can:

  • Sort balls & building blocks or build towers with up to 6 pieces,

  • Walk more steadily & climb onto small play equipment,

  • Press keys, buttons & switches independently,

  • Transfer sand, water, blocks & co. from one container to another,

  • Say "no", follow simple stories in a picture book, learn first words.

Domino bowling for 2-year-olds

What 2-year-olds can do with Kullerbü

Recognize parts, hand them to you & thus help with assembly

reach deliberately for balls & let them roll on the lane

Recognize cause and effect = the ball knocks over the domino balls!

Learn first colors of balls & track sections

Of course, 2-year-olds still cannot build an entire track. But they can approach the construction as a game with a person 'who already knows how to do it' and pick out parts – this works with age-appropriate building suggestions and step-by-step instructions.

Exploring and experimenting with Kullerbü

You and your kids are now marble-run experts! But the marble-run (building) fun is far from over here! Our head designer of the HABA marble run, Jan Schenkel, describes the tracks in the detailed product video as a completely sustainable toy that is durable, can be passed down forever, and infinitely expandable: "The great thing about our marble runs is that the marble run is the only one on the market with an open system and unlimited expansion possibilities is. You can incorporate other materials, build the track crooked, attach a cardboard tube, or include the furniture from your home; there are no limits!"

So what are you waiting for? Let's go! You can expand or modify the track with anything you find at home. How about a book or stuffed animal tunnel, a book-track extension, or building-block obstacles? Have fun finding parts and experimenting!

Give it a try: books work great integrated into the track – placed as a tunnel or opened up as a track extension!

What happens to the marble when part of the track is replaced by an open picture book?

Kullerbü marble run safety

Kullerbü marble runs are made from the perfect combination of wood and plastic parts. Each element is tested to the highest standards – so your children can enjoy safe play with Kullerbü from 1 year of age. Every assembly step is well thought out. Thanks to high-quality connecting elements, a clever click system and support feet the marble run is stable and sturdy. It also holds up to slightly rougher play and doesn't fall over all the time. And if it does get a bit too turbulent, it is reconfigured in no time. Thanks to stabilizing pillars, the rolling fun isn't diminished and the balls zip down the tracks very quickly even from height.
