Create Kullerbü designs creatively with the fingerprint technique
The Kullerbü world is perfectly round, colorful … and entirely individual: With the sophisticated fingerprint technique, even the smallest children can, in the truest sense of the word, create unique Kullerbü designs. Every fingerprint is different, and every design is too.
Required materials
Ink pad, watercolors or water-soluble finger paints for creating the fingerprints
Felt-tip pens, colored pencils, or permanent markers for drawing the details (depending on the base color used)
an old newspaper or a washable placemat as a protective surface
old clothes, apron, or smock
a damp cloth and a kitchen towel for cleaning the fingers
Easy variant
In this variant, the details of the motifs are already present and their outlines are given as dashed lines. This makes it easier for the little ones to find their way and shows where they should place their fingerprints. In addition, they get a first sense of different shapes and colors.
More challenging variant
In this variant, the Kullerbü motifs are only partially predefined and can be created by the children themselves using fingerprints. As inspiration for painting and splattering, we have compiled some Kullerbü motifs that can serve as guidance, while the children's imagination and creativity are free to shape their designs. Once the paint is completely dry, additional details such as faces, leaves on the trees, etc. can be added.
