Disposal instructions for HABA products
HABA toys are often passed down from generation to generation. Nevertheless, there comes a time when some much-loved toys or their components, such as rechargeable or disposable batteries, must be disposed of. Are you wondering what you need to pay attention to? We'll give you an overview of how HABA products and their components are disposed of correctly.
How to dispose of items correctly:
Wood products:
Please dispose of used wood products at the recycling centre.
Paper/Cardboard:
Paper and cardboard can be recycled. Please dispose of paper or cardboard components in the appropriate recycling bin.
Textile products/Textile clothing:
When disposing of textile products, their condition is decisive: intact and clean garments and textile toys can be disposed of via the used clothing collection. Heavily damaged or soiled products should be disposed of in the residual waste bin.
Silicone:
Toys made of silicone should be disposed of in the residual waste bin.
Metal cans/tinplate:
Tinplate packaging can be disposed of in the yellow recycling bin and thus sent for recycling.
Plastic:
Pure plastic products can be disposed of in the yellow recycling bin. Composite plastic items, such as plastic toy cars with a wind-up motor, should be disposed of in the residual waste bin.
Wood-based thermoplastics:
Parts made of wood-based thermoplastics should be disposed of in the residual waste bin.
Disposing of electronic toy components
Every consumer is legally obliged to return both new and used batteries or rechargeable batteries. Disposal via household waste is prohibited. Used batteries may contain hazardous substances or heavy metals that can harm the environment and human health.
The bin symbol means:
Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of in household waste.
The symbols under the bin indicate:
Pb: the battery contains more than 0.004 per cent lead
Cd: the battery contains more than 0.002 per cent cadmium
Hg: the battery contains more than 0.0005 per cent mercury
Disposal of batteries and rechargeable batteries
Old batteries and rechargeable batteries can be returned free of charge to the municipal collection points and anywhere that batteries and rechargeable batteries of the relevant type are sold. You can also return batteries to our stores after use.
