Creating tomorrow – thinking about tomorrow today
Sustainability and responsibility at HABA
Every change starts with a single step, with many more following. Our goal, which we move toward step by step, is more sustainability in all areas of our thinking and actions.
So durable they can be handed down – sustainability you can touch
Even at the start of product development our designers are already thinking about what look and play qualities a product needs to have so that it brings children joy over a longer period of time and can also be “handed down” to the next generation.
As well as this, because the loss of one part of a game’s game material can sometimes mean that the whole game can no longer be used, a couple of years ago we set up a comprehensive replacement service to combat this problem.
It’s not just about the product – upcycling done differently
At HABA we don’t work on the principle “Out of sight, out of mind,” but instead on the principle “Packed, shipped, and then reused!” In practice this means that we offer our customers creative do-it-yourself ideas for shipping cartons. This lets you and your children not only look forward to the contents of the received package but also to the box itself, which can be put to good use.
These and other measures that we have already implemented are having a positive impact on the future. In this way we are making our contribution to shaping our future and the coming generations because, after all, “We are creating tomorrow.”
Responsibility at HABA – a top priority in all areas of daily activity
This clear goal presupposes that we take responsibility for our corporate actions, and that’s exactly what we’re doing in the areas of ecology, economy and social aspects.
For HABA, responsibility is more than just a word. It is reflected in everything we do – and have done for 80 years. The HABA Family of Companies is in its third generation today – and the small family business from back then has grown into a modern, internationally active family company. Headquartered in Bad Rodach, the Family of Companies unites ten brands under one umbrella, including HABA and Wehrfritz – two company brands from the very beginning – as well as JAKO-O, project, and a few others, and employs around 2,000 people in total. Much has changed over the past decades, but the sense of tradition and responsibility has remained and is passed on from generation to generation within the founding family.
HABA has been accompanying children on their way into and through life for 80 years now – with games and toys that challenge, encourage and, above all, bring a lot of joy. We develop and produce high-quality products for children and their families in an environmentally friendly, energy and resource preserving manner at all stages of the value chain. We achieve this on the one hand through highly efficient processes and production methods and on the other thanks to highly motivated employees, for whom the idea of quality is also firmly anchored in their thinking and actions. In particular, the protection of natural resources, the long-term safeguarding of jobs, active environmental protection, and careful data protection are very important to us. This is our concept of social responsibility, which we are happy to embrace.
Responsibility from A to Q

That’s why it’s especially important to us that we support our employees in finding a balance between work and family life.
