Crafts: Little Artists at Work

Kreativ Party | Bild 3

Do you want to offer the birthday group something special that doesn't mean too much effort for you as parents? Hand-knotted dreamcatchers, shape and dye kneadable soaps yourself, T-shirts paint and personalize, braid friendship bracelets or keychains and embellish them with alphabet beads into a personal keepsake to spruce up for each guest ... There are so many ways to set up several craft stations with just a few supplies, so they almost run themselves.

Tip: We have more craft ideas and supplies here  at a glance.

Decor: All in One

If you arrange the collected craft materials nicely on the tables, for example in mason jars or small baskets, you have hands-on decor: paintbrushes, markers, glitter gems, craft kits, feathers, ribbons, beads, paper, child-safe scissors, watercolors, finger paints, and so on. Sustainable decor that invites participation. Attach visual party highlights to the walls or hang from the ceiling using small feather sprays, colorful ribbons, small twigs, wrapped with string lights wrapped, lit paper lanterns, balloons and streamers.

Tip: If your child has a favorite character, you can of course tailor the creative party to that and provide craft templates that reflect the theme.

Games: Marshmallow Tower

This game is fun for everyone. Depending on the number of children, split the little ones into groups. All each group needs are 20 spaghetti, 1 marshmallow and 1 m of crepe tape. The task: The first group that builds a tower out of the available materials and whose marshmallow doesn't fall from the top wins. Joyful squeals from the children are guaranteed and the activity also promotes group dynamics, cooperation and dexterity.

Tip:As a prize, prepare small sweet-filled bags with a wooden name tag attached for each child.

Food: Colors à la Carte

Have you ever tried making a rainbow cake? Add food coloring to the batters of the individual layers, bake and layer them like a rainbow. Cover the cake with light icing or fondant and use a brush and food coloring to splatter color over the cake as decoration. A definite wow moment when slicing. For a healthy component, serve vegetable sticks, tomato-mozzarella skewers and homemade ice pops — mix juice with water, add colorful fruit, and freeze in a popsicle mold.

A creative birthday like this is colorful and varied and can, with little effort, become a child-friendly, personal little adventure on such a big day. Have fun!

We're really excited to see what your birthday party will look like.

Take photos of your birthday bash and post them on the HABA Facebook page or under the hashtag #habaparty on Instagram.
