Step 1: Free Play
The children engage with the play materials, discover the depicted details and try out different possibilities. Parents accompany this by talking with the child about the illustrations, asking questions about details, and coming up with play situations together. Whether dice or game board, placement tiles or wooden play pieces – the loving and richly detailed design of our board games and the sturdy, tactile workmanship of the material offer toddlers plenty to discover.
Step 2: Introduce children to simple rules
Understanding and following rules is important for early childhood development. Rules structure the social life both at home as well as in daycare or kindergarten. When children understand, implement and follow rules, they practice different things. Always at the center are attentive listening, patience, empathy, cooperation, and control of one's impulses are the focus. These are key skills that children need in all life situations and can practice playfully with HABA's games.
Step 3: Playing Variants
Once the children have understood the basic rules and have played several times, they can try slightly more difficult variants with their parents. The instructions of My First Games are varied. This keeps the games interesting for a long time.
Every child is unique in their personality and development. Thanks to the varied design of the board games parents can specifically respond to their child at every stage and have lots of fun playing together. Each game has a different focus – what they all have in common is that they take parents 'by the hand' and help them step by step with tips to individually support their children while playing.
