Crafts: Jersey Swap

What is the most important thing a true fan needs? Of course, their own jersey. Creative kids design their jerseys themselves – for example with fabric markers.

Decor: Stadium Atmosphere

Football is a versatile theme and, thanks to World Cups and football-loving friends, most decoration accessories are already at home – from jerseys and fan scarves to dad's old football boots. Drape jerseys over the backs of chairs, place napkins, plates and cups with football designs on the tables, and put a whistle at each little football guest's seat. That creates atmosphere!

Tip: Draw a pitch on a green felt sheet (available at all fabric stores) with a white fabric pen – 1:0 for this great DIY tablecloth.

Games: Get the Ball into the Goal

Set up various ball stations: shooting at a goal wall, keep-the-ball-up, can shooting, or a football relay. For this we need two teams of pairs, an area to run and a laundry basket: A ball is held between the stomachs. Now two teams face off and try to be the first to carry their balls in a laundry basket to the finish line. The team that first brings all the balls into the basket wins.

If you don't have much time to prepare, you can kit yourself out with a football party set. That way you celebrate "like world champions" and turn little guests into huge fans. Invitation cards get the atmosphere going even before kick-off, and everything at the table revolves around the ball. In the football quiz the brain is trained first before going onto the pitch. And if real medals are awarded at the end, everyone wins.

Food: For real fans

What would football be without currywurst, fries, or football-shaped meatballs? If you run around a lot you'll be really hungry. But the healthy sporting spirit shouldn't be neglected: green, colorful salads and skewers with grapes and cheese or tomato and mozzarella are always a hit. For the sweet kick: use an ice cream scoop to make small fruit balls, skewer them on toothpicks, dip them in white chocolate and paint a football pattern with dark chocolate.
