Who ate from my little plate?
Party favors for a kids' birthday party
A delicious cake and a fizzy lemonade are simply part of a kids' birthday party. So you'll need plates and lemonade glasses anyway. Both can be easily personalized.
For that you basically only need porcelain markers. Write each child's name in a pretty script on the plate or glass. Let dry, done.
But be careful: that only applies to the new porcelain markers. Often the labeled pieces still need to go into the oven. If you're not very practiced, we also recommend first drawing the name on paper and then tracing it onto the porcelain with a sharp pencil. Corrections can also be made with ethanol and a cloth.
Your best bet is to simply consult the internet: here you'll find many detailed DIY instructions for painting porcelain. In particular, lemonade glasses with handles, lids and colorful built-in straws are all the rage right now.
Tableware labeled with the children's names also has the advantage that everyone can find their plate or glass again and you don't have to keep loading the dishwasher. Of course you can also let the little guests paint plastic cups or paper plates themselves. That's fun and creates individual table decor.
Get creative: the party favor as an activity
Children love to get creative themselves. Painting lemonade glasses or plates is just one idea among many. If the children can make their own party favors, you've also covered one activity of the birthday party.
Picture frames:
Funny party photos make the best memories. Digital photos can be printed quickly on your home printer. Also great: there are still instant cameras today. The new Polaroids are great fun for everyone. Buy some cheap small picture frames for this, which the kids may decorate themselves with sparkling gems or cute stickers. That way they can take a great keepsake home at the end of the birthday party.
Sock animals:
Almost everyone has odd socks lying around at home. From them, wonderful sock animals can be made at the next birthday. For that you need some cardboard for the mouth, small pompoms or googly eyes for the eyes and felt sheets in different colors and thicknesses. Add craft glue and children's scissors and you have a craft activity and party favor in one.
Tote bags:
The cotton bags are not only trendy, but also good for the environment. And if the kids are allowed to paint or print their own bags, they'll be even more likely to use the fabric bags for the next shopping trip or outing. Fabric markers are suitable for younger children, for older kids you can buy a screen-printing set.
Sweets in cute bags and at the candy bar
Sweets always work, and the little treats are best received when they come in pretty packaging. Here too, you can either get creative yourself or leave the crafting to the little guests again.
For example, get small cellophane bags and colorful construction paper. That way you can give the bags cute cat or bear heads and matching paws.
Is that too complicated for you? Then simply use our instructions for a pretty candy cone, which you can also decorate with colored pencils, stickers or little rhinestones.
At a candy bar with gummy bears, chocolate candies, candies, lollipops and fizzy sticks, the little guests can fill their own bags or cones.
The candy bar not only looks great: the little guests can also grab a little treat in between. In that case, just make sure that there aren't sweets and cake available all day long anyway.
Would you rather have the children be active? Then craft the bags together at the start of the party. The children can then earn the contents of their party favor during the birthday party through various games or a fun treasure hunt.
