The play to act out

Little Red Riding Hood:

(enters the stage singing) Lalala, what a beautiful day! The sun is shining, the birds are chirping… and I'm walking in the forest with my basket. Oh! There are quite a lot of children here. Are you all here?

(the children answer)

Little Red Riding Hood:

Great that you're all here! Then you can accompany me to my grandmother's house. My mother said I should always stay on the path because there is a wolf in the forest. But we're all not afraid of the wolf, are we? No!

(the children answer)

Little Red Riding Hood:

I'm not afraid of anything at all! Lalala… lalala… lalala…. (walks on happily, then suddenly stops singing and comes to a halt) Huh, what was that? Did you see that too?

(the curtain moves)

Little Red Riding Hood:

Oh dear! Look very closely, something moved there! And what if that's the wolf? What if he is actually mean? I'd better hide quickly! (Little Red Riding Hood exits)

Policeman:

(enters the stage) Oh, what a beautiful day! The sun is shining and I'm on patrol in the forest. Hello children, I'm Sergeant Waldemar. Have you seen a wolf around here?

(the children answer)

Little Red Riding Hood:

(peeks out from behind the curtain and watches what happens)

Policeman:

Was anyone else out in the forest?

(the children answer)

Little Red Riding Hood:

(enters the stage) Yes, I am out in the forest. Good day, Sergeant! Fortunately it's you and not the wolf!

Policeman:

(looks surprised) Well hello! Who are you? (to the children) Do you know her? Who is that?

(the children answer)

Policeman:

Ah, so your name is Little Red Riding Hood. And what are you doing alone in the forest?

Little Red Riding Hood:

I'm on my way to my grandmother's to bring her freshly baked cake.

Policeman:

Then I'll accompany you for a while. (exit together)

Wolf:

(enters the stage growling) Uaaaa, I'm hungry. But if you sleep as long as I do… you must be terribly hungry. I'll just stop by Grandmother's to see what tasty food there is to eat. (sneaks to Grandmother's house and scratches at the door)

Grandmother:

(hears the scratching and is startled) What's that sound? Help! I see so poorly… and I've misplaced my glasses again. Who can tell me who that is?

(the children answer)

Grandmother:

(calming down) Oh, it's only the wolf. Well, then I can open the door. And where are my glasses? Oh yes, on my nose! (goes to the door) Hello Wolf! How are you?

Wolf:

(comes in) Hello Grandmother, I'm terribly hungry! Ow, ow, ow, owwww… (whines pitifully) My stomach already hurts. Do you have anything to eat for me?

Grandmother:

(concerned) Poor, poor wolf. You also look completely starved. Maybe I still have a little soup and a few cookies for you. Wait a moment, I'll be right back. (Grandmother exits)

Little Red Riding Hood:

(knocks on the door) Hello Grandmother! It's me, your Little Red Riding Hood!

Wolf:

(puts a paw over her mouth and whispers) Oh dear, someone's knocking. That's exactly what I didn't need. I need a hiding place quickly!

Little Red Riding Hood:

(enters and is startled when she sees the wolf) Oh my goodness, Grandmother, what's wrong with you? Why do you have such big eyes? Why do you have such big ears? And... why do you have such a big mouth?

Wolf:

(giggles) A big mouth, hehe. Yes, I am a bigmouth, hehe.

Little Red Riding Hood:

Hey, you're not the Grandmother at all!

Wolf:

Clever Little Red Riding Hood, hehe. (laughs maliciously) I am the evil wolf. I have big eyes so I can see you well. I have big ears so I can hear you well. And I have a big mouth so I can eeeeat a lot.

Little Red Riding Hood:

(shouts) What, you ate my Grandmother? (begins to beat the wolf) You ugly furball, spit my Grandmother out immediately! Children, help me call the Sergeant: Sergeant!

(the children call along)

Wolf:

(curls up and lies very still)

Policeman:

(rushes in) What? Where? What? Who called for me here?

Wolf:

(slowly gets up) Exactly, Little Red Riding Hood! That's not proper: Shame on you!

Little Red Riding Hood:

There is the evil wolf who ate my Grandmother!

Grandmother:

(enters, worried) Oh dear! Little Red Riding Hood, what have you done to the poor wolf? You can't just hit him!

Wolf:

(slowly gets up) Exactly, Little Red Riding Hood! That's not proper: Shame on you!

Little Red Riding Hood:

(completely flustered) But, but... (stammers) I thought you had eaten my Grandmother! (near tears)

Wolf:

Oh nonsense! I would never eat Grandmother. She always gives me something to eat when my stomach growls... like right now.

Policeman:

(confused) Wait, what? The wolf isn't evil at all? And Grandmother and the wolf are friends?

Grandmother:

Yes exactly. That is my dear friend, the wolf. Unfortunately I only have some soup left. The cookies have, unfortunately, all been eaten already.

Wolf:

Ohhh, I'm sooo huuuungry.

Policeman: (disappointed) Too bad, now I can't arrest anyone and lock them up in prison.

Little Red Riding Hood:

Alright then, Wolf, I apologize to you. How about we all eat the delicious cake I have in my basket together now?

Wolf:

(claps his paws enthusiastically) Oh, yes, yes, yes. Cake! Cake!

Goodbye, children! Until next time!
