Crafts: A Bag Full of Heroes
Painting cotton bags is great fun for all children! Set up a craft table and put a bag by each child. Cut out a few stencils. fire brigade, car, police motif, crane – you can find all sorts of inspiration online. Now just provide some fabric paints and the wild painting can begin. Tip: After the party each child can take their own hero bag home – fill it with a few sweet party favours.
Decor: Go Big, Not Small
Do you know exactly which hero is the biggest for your child? Blue lights, construction helmets, tool belts, or toy cars from the playbox make great eye-catchers. Balloons and napkins with digger motifs immediately show: “Heroes are celebrating here.” Children’s fire helmets or police hats are not only decorative but can immediately be put to use for play.
Games: Heroes, Full Steam Ahead
Instead of tin throwing: spray the cans. For that either fetch the garden hose or use the perfectly suited pull-along and squirting toys. For dexterity and hammer power you can prepare a nail-driving contest: lightly pre-drive a few nails into a thick board. Then the little ones – watch their fingers and only under supervision – may go at the nails with a (rubber) hammer. Great fun for little heroes.
Food: Strength Boosters
Everyday heroes need proper food to recharge. Put out a buffet with hot dogs or currywurst, tasty buttered sandwiches or wraps, homemade pizza and savoury muffins filled with cheese and bacon. It'll be gone faster than the police allow.
Tip: Would you like to host a memorable and educational birthday? An unforgettable experience would, of course, be if a real everyday hero turned up as a surprise guest in full uniform or with an emergency vehicle at the party. Ask around among your acquaintances or contact the fire brigade and the like.
