The HABA Philosophy
HABA's philosophy is based on a simple principle: Children are the most important thing we have. Passing on fundamental values to them and raising them to independent, creative and imaginative individuals is not only the parents' responsibility. Rather, children grow up within a dense network of relationships. Siblings, friends, educators and teachers – they all have an influence on children's development. But not only people, but also all the things that surround children and the environment in which they grow up shape child development from the very first day.
Meeting the needs of the littlest ones
“If we want to change the world, we must start with the children,” said the famous violinist Yehudi Menuhin. And children need, besides the attention and love of their parents, above all one thing: Well-thought-out toys, that allow imaginative play, challenge them appropriately for their age, and above all are fun. In short: things that make children's eyes sparkle and at the same time offer a lasting incentive to play.
This is exactly what we at HABA can already offer the youngest – thanks to the work of our dedicated designers and game editors. Our employees put all their passion into the development of well-thought-out toys and and games. They draw inspiration from nature or from people, while traveling or at home, working alone or in a team – and in the end special products are created that stimulate children's curiosity and their urge to play.
Produce toys fairly and regionally
With our philosophy, we also aim for a sustainable, fair way of doing business. Therefore, not only are our Ideas "Made in Germany", but also most toys and wooden figurines. These are produced at our manufacturing site in HABA company site produced in Bad Rodach in Upper Franconia. Our ideas have their roots in Germany, just like the trees that supply the wood for our products. They come from sustainable forestry – which is why our wooden toys also carry the PEFC quality seal.
Social and family cohesion
We take social action towards our staff, partners and customers seriously. Only through a fair approach to one another does trust grow – the basis of any relationship.
HABA is part of the HABA-Firmenfamilie – and stands by its family roots. "It is our conviction that a family-owned company should also be run by a family. My siblings and I have therefore been active in different areas of the company for many years. We are happy to accept this responsibility. Keeping our ties to the region is always important to us – as it was for our grandparents and still is for our father today", says the founder's granddaughter, Sabine Habermaass.
