Who has eaten from my little plate?

Party favors for a kids' birthday party

A delicious cake and a sparkling lemonade simply belong at a kids' birthday party. So you'll need plates and lemonade glasses anyway. You can easily personalize both.

For that you basically only need porcelain pens. Simply write each child's name in nice handwriting on the plate or glass. Let it dry, and you're done.

But beware: that only applies to the new porcelain pens. Often the labeled pieces still need to go into the oven. If you're not very practiced, we also recommend drawing the name on paper first and then tracing it onto the porcelain with a sharp pencil. Corrections can also be made with ethanol and a cloth.

It's best to simply consult the internet: here you'll find many detailed DIY instructions for painting porcelain. Especially lemonade glasses with a handle, lid and colorful built-in straw are very trendy right now.

Tableware labeled with the children's names also has the advantage that everyone finds their plate or glass again and you don't have to keep filling the dishwasher. Of course, you can also let the little guests paint plastic cups or paper plates themselves. It's fun and creates individual table decor.

Get creative: the party favor as an activity

Children love getting creative themselves. Painting lemonade glasses or plates is just one idea among many. If the children can make their party favors themselves, you've also covered an activity for the birthday party.

Picture frames:

Funny party photos are the best memories. Digital photos can be quickly printed on a home printer. Also great: instant cameras still exist today. The new Polaroids are a lot of fun for everyone. Buy cheap small picture frames that the kids can decorate themselves with sparkling gems or cute stickers. That way they can take a wonderful keepsake home at the end of the birthday party.

Sock animals:

Almost everyone has single socks lying around at home. From them, wonderful sock animals can be made at the next birthday. For that you need some cardboard for the mouth, small pompoms or googly eyes for the eyes and felt sheets in various colors and thicknesses. Add craft glue and children's scissors and you have a craft activity and party favor in one.

Tote bags:

The cotton bags are not only trendy, but also good for the environment. And if the kids are allowed to paint or print their own bags, they are even more likely to use the fabric bags for the next shopping trip or outing. For younger children fabric markers are suitable; for older children you can buy a screen printing kit.

Sweets in cute little bags and at the candy bar

Sweets always work and the little treats are best received when they come in pretty packaging. Here too you can either get creative yourself or let the little guests do the crafting.

For example, get small cellophane bags and colored construction paper. That way you can give the bags cute cat or bear heads and matching paws.

Is that too complicated for you? Then simply use our instructions for a pretty candy cone, which you can also decorate with colored pencils, stickers or rhinestones.

At a candy bar with gummy bears, chocolate lentils, candies, lollipops and sherbet sticks the little guests can fill their bags or cones themselves.

The candy bar not only looks great: the little guests can also grab a sweet snack in between. In that case you should just make sure there aren't sweets and cake available all day long anyway.

Would you rather have the children be active? Then make the bags together at the start of the party. The children can then earn the contents for their party favor during the birthday with various games or a fun treasure hunt.
