Find the perfect toy for children aged 2 and up

2-year-old children are little whirlwinds and are constantly learning something new. They develop every day and refine their motor, creative and cognitive skills through play. Toys must be able to keep up with 2-year-olds. You may be wondering which toys are really suitable from age 2? We'll tell you:

Toys for 2-year-olds: Get inspired

When choosing toys for children, it's always important to keep age and developmental stage in mind. Is the toy suitable for a 2-year-old? Then the child will enjoy it and benefit from it. Toys should never under-challenge them, but also not overwhelm them.

Many parents ask themselves: Which toys best promote the development of a 2-year-old child? And which toys are particularly durable? We have compiled a list of toys that the little ones will surely enjoy:

Wooden toys: With wooden building blocks, children create worlds in their playroom. From two years, children begin to to form piles and long rows with blocks. They build vertically and horizontally. They look at their blocks and carefully consider where to place the next block. In our shop there are blocks on different themes – especially popular right now are the city-themed motif blocks.

Motor skills toys: Stacking, inserting, building, placing, grasping – with these toys 2-year-olds really get their money's worth. For them, it's the greatest thing to grab play pieces, inspect them and sort the shapes into the correct openings on a motor board.

Bath toys: Playing in the water is also a big adventure for the little ones. And of course the bathtub offers great play opportunities. For example with bath books or a swim buoy to assemble with colorful pieces that float enticingly on the water.

Toys for language development: When children start to repeat everything they hear, many parents look for suitable language games. In our series My First Games they will find what they're looking for – for example with the game Hungry Bear or My Home.

Little marble-run fans will be thrilled by our Kullerbü Track - Big Construction Sitebe delighted. Here, alongside colorful balls, construction vehicles also race through a construction site. Music toys for 2-year-olds

But the world of music is also popular with little play fans aged 2. The Crocodile Guiro makes super funny rattling noises and promotes children's first musical understanding. The crocodile is easy for small children's hands to grip. It doesn't snap, but rattles when they run a wooden stick over the ridges on its back.

Equally popular is the Rainmaker Tiger, a children's instrument and dexterity game in one. The tiger has colorful balls in its belly – when you move them, exciting sounds are produced. If the little ones tilt the tiger, the volume and speed of the balls change. Children can also experiment with the tilt and thus influence the volume and speed of the balls.
