HABA – a family-friendly family business
We at HABA have been supporting children in their everyday play for over 85 years. We design thoughtful products with high play value even for the very youngest. In doing so, we apply the highest standards to every single toy to meet the needs of little explorers.
These standards also apply within our company – because our employees are the heart of our company.
Employees at the heart
Working at HABA means working for the most delightful target group in the world: children and their families. Of the more than 2,000 employees across the HABA family of companies, around 1,800 are based at the company site in Bad Rodach. The proportion of women across the HABA group is particularly high: almost 60% of the workforce is female. These are all impressive numbers, facts and figures. But for us as a long-established, family-run company, what matters even more is what lies behind them: the people themselves. Many of our employees are parents or grandparents themselves and therefore have a particularly personal connection to the products they develop, manufacture and distribute.
Family-friendly working conditions
All our employees put their energy, knowledge and drive into our company every day. Therefore, it is natural for us to create an environment and framework in which they can best reconcile professional and family matters. This largely concerns childcare, where we support our employees with the following offers:
the care of employees' children aged ½ to 6 years at the Luise Habermaass children's daycare
holiday childcare during the summer break for children aged 4 to 10 years
individual, flexible working-time models
We also provide individual support to employees who care for relatives in need of care at home.
Responsibility for employees' health
Health is essential to remaining productive. To ensure it stays that way, we implement a wide range of proactive measures as part of our Occupational Health Management (BGM). This includes, for example, numerous health courses – from A for aquatraining to Z for Zumba. In addition, we have been running the JobRad initiative for some time. It enables employees to use company bikes for their journey to work and in their free time, allowing them to get around affordably, in an environmentally friendly way and in a manner that promotes health.
Although it is unhealthy, long periods of sitting are almost unavoidable in everyday office life. That is why it is all the more important that workstations are set up ergonomically. Within the HABA group, trained ErgoScouts ensure this: trained employees who check and adjust colleagues' desk chairs and screens from an ergonomic perspective.
