HABA – a family-friendly family business
We at HABA have been accompanying for over 85 years children in their everyday play. We develop well-considered products with high play value even for the littlest ones. In doing so, we set the highest standards to every single toy to meet the needs of little explorers.
These standards also apply in our company – because our employees are the heart of our company.
Employees at the center
Working at HABA means working for the most wonderful target group in the world: children and their families. Of the more than 2.000 employees who are employed across the HABA corporate family, around 1.800 work at the company site in Bad Rodach. The 'proportion of women' in the entire HABA corporate family is particularly high: almost 60 % of the workforce are female. These are all impressive numbers, data and facts. But for us as a long-established family company, what matters even more is what lies behind them: people themselves. Many of our employees are parents or grandparents themselves and therefore have a very personal connection to the products they develop, produce and distribute.
Family-friendly working conditions
All our employees put their energy, knowledge and commitment into our company every day. Therefore, it is natural for us to create an environment and framework conditions in which they can best reconcile professional and family concerns. This largely concerns childcare, where we support our employees with the following services:
Childcare for employees' children aged ½ to 6 years at the Luise Habermaass children's house
Summer holiday childcare for children aged 4 to 10 years
Individual, flexible working time arrangements
Employees who care for relatives in need of care at home are also individually supported by us.
Responsibility for the health of employees
Health is essential to being able to perform. To ensure it stays that way, within the framework of our Occupational Health Management (BGM) we carry out a wide range of proactive measures. This includes, for example, numerous health courses - from A for aquatraining to Z for Zumba. In addition, there has been the JobRad initiative for some time. It enables employees to use company bicycles for their commute and in their free time, allowing them to travel cheaply, in an environmentally friendly way, and in a manner that promotes health.
Even though it is unhealthy, few people can avoid long periods of sitting in everyday office life. That is why it is all the more important that the workplace is ergonomically designed. For this purpose, the HABA company family relies on so-called trained ErgoScouts: trained employees who check and adjust colleagues' desk chairs and monitors from an ergonomic perspective.
