The Little Friends Riders
Before we show you everything, we'd like to introduce ourselves first. We are Lisbeth, Mika and Vanessa, and we all have one hobby in common: riding! We are at the riding stable every day, care for the horses Leopold, Pippa and Kasper and help with the stable work. But the best thing is that we can ride every day ... in the jumping arena, but also across the fields and through the woods behind the riding stable. Today we're up especially early because the big jumping tournament takes place this afternoon. Vanessa and Mika have already put on their show jackets. When the horses are ready, we can start. So: Quick, into the horse stable and saddle the horses!
The Little Friends' Horse Stable
Look at what there is to discover at the Little Friends' riding stable! Here is the big horse stable. When we arrive, we always first open the big stable door and all the windows to greet Pippa, Leopold and Kasper. In the horse stable there are three stalls, one for each of our horses. We'll introduce the three of them to you in more detail shortly.
There's plenty more to experience around the horse stable: at the back there is a hose to clean the stable and the animals. In nice weather we can open the roof so that lots of sun shines into the stable. Next to the stalls for the horses there is plenty of space to store feed and riding equipment. That way we have everything to hand. Next to the horse stable there is another horse stall. This one is also nice and spacious and offers plenty of room for a horse, feed and riding equipment.
Right in front of the stable is our riding arena: that's where we train with the horses and practice for the big Little Friends show-jumping tournament! There is a fence around the grass arena. And later the riders will jump over the small and large obstacles on the arena with their horses! Speaking of horses... where are Kasper, Leopold and Pippa hiding anyway?
The Little Friends' Horses
Pippa, the white mare with the gray spots, is still in her stall and waiting for... carrots! A little snack before the tournament is important, and tonight she'll get her horse feed. Leopold, the handsome Haflinger, is just being brought to the horse stall. And Kapser? The brown stallion with the black mane is still romping around in the paddock. We riders look after all the horses together, but each of us has their very own favorite horse: Lisbeth and Leopold are best friends and love to go out riding. Mika gets along great with the spirited Kasper and Pippa is a good show-jumper, which is why Vanessa often takes her to jumping tournaments. Feeding, grooming, mucking out stalls... there's lots of work at the Little Friends' riding stable, but we always have lots of fun too!
So, now we have to hurry, because Vanessa and Pippa are about to get going!
The Little Friends' Big Show-Jumping Tournament
Look — Vanessa and Pippa are riding onto the arena with the obstacles. We're all keeping our fingers crossed for her! Our friend Milla is watching and is also very excited, because she also really likes being at the riding stable.
There, Pippa is already jumping over the first obstacle with Vanessa on her back — woohoo, made it! Now comes the big obstacle. Pippa jumps... and catches a rail with her hind hoof. Oh no, unfortunately she didn't clear the obstacle. That's a shame, but you know what? Practice makes perfect and next time Vanessa and Pippa will definitely make it.
At the end, each rider is presented with a small prize. Mika, of course, also gives Vanessa a flower and a medal: 'Don't be sad', he comforts his friend, 'you took part and did well.
