Where it says HABA, there's quality inside

Our commitment to the quality of materials and their workmanship

At HABA we have a guiding principle: toys are only as good as their materials and their workmanship. Therefore we pay close attention to quality when selecting materials. And we continuously check their workmanship — both in in-house production and at our suppliers. Since we began producing board games, sturdy cardboard for game boards, cards and tiles has also been among the materials used. Over the past decades, HABA's product range has been consistently expanded — for example, various polyester fabrics and high-quality plastics were gradually added. All materials used are thoroughly inspected before production begins.

Wood … naturally good for our toys

Qualitätsmanagement | Holz ... natürlich

Wood is one of the most natural and beautiful raw materials there is. That's why wooden toys are still an indispensable part of the HABA range. Since 2010 our wooden products have also carried the PEFC label. It confirms that we use wood from sustainable forestry in German forests. Our beech wood comes from forests within a 150 km radius of our site in the Franconian town of Bad Rodach. Plywood that we import from Finland is also obtained from controlled sources. In doing so, we support the preservation of the forests' ecological balance and make a substantial contribution to improving the sustainability of forest use and management worldwide. When we add colour to wooden toys, we only use solvent-free lacquers and water-based stains. So babies and toddlers can safely put any of our wooden toys, such as rattles or dummy chains into their mouths at any time.

Qualitätsmanagement | Stoff … das Material

Fabric … the material for many cuddly toys

Our designers create a wide range of fabric products and use a variety of materials: smooth, easy-care polyester fabrics, as well as soft velour, cord, felt and mesh fabrics. It is precisely the different appearance and tactile quality of the fabrics that really make baby and toddler toys so appealing. Our soft toys are produced worldwide by a variety of suppliers whom we select carefully and whose production sites we visit regularly. In doing so, we gain an overview of the manufacturing situation and social standards such as working hours, working conditions, etc.

Qualitätsmanagement | Hochwertiger Kunststoff

High-quality plastic … versatile in use

Quality management We mainly use plastics for our sand toys in. The HABA sand-play range includes all the basics for digging and splashing in the sand for children from 1 ½ years, as well as many sand moulds that allow children to enjoy creative and imaginative role-play in the sand. Customers receive a five-year guarantee on the polypropylene and ABS plastics used in HABA sand toys.

In addition, we also manufacture some baby grasping toys as well as various individual parts for marble runs made of plastic … whenever our designers can make use of the advantages of plastic in their designs. This also creates great combinations of wood and plastic, for example in the Kullerbü-play system.

Qualitätsmanagement | Stabile Pappe

Sturdy cardboard … for loads of playtime fun

Cardboard is perhaps the most unassuming material we use, but it plays a very important role. In the area of games we use it for game boards, tiles or cards. As such, the cardboard components, alongside the wooden figures, play a central role, because the illustrations printed on them bring the game's atmosphere to life. Most of our books are made of cardboard. This allows us to incorporate many features popular with children, such as flaps, peek-holes and rotating discs. The beautifully illustrated HABA Puzzles are also made of cardboard, with the puzzles for toddlers being particularly sturdy.

Excellent Quality Management

Our quality management is certified according to the nationally and internationally recognized quality standard DIN EN ISO 9001:2015. So, for example, the standard requires that existing processes and workflows be reviewed repeatedly and, if necessary, adjusted to improve quality. This enables us to continuously enhance the quality of our products and services for our customers. ISO 9001 specifies the minimum requirements for a quality management system. With the introduction of the process-oriented approach, processes are examined and target values are compared with actual values. If deviations are identified, this leads to the definition and planning of measures aimed at continuous improvement and change. There is also a written quality policy that is regularly reviewed and adjusted when necessary.
