My First Marble Run: Observe, Explore, Play
My First Marble Run Made entirely of wood and suitable for children from 18 months. After the first stacking attempts with building blocks, children at this age discover further possibilities for building. They explore the components with all their senses, notice the shape and size, and discover which parts fit together. With the help of an adult - or even on their own - they can assemble a small course for the large marbles. The pegs of the colored connector pieces snap into the track sections of the marble run and provide sufficient stability. The low track lets the marbles roll with little momentum so the individual effects on the course can be observed closely. Simply perfect for the beginnings of a little builder!

The ideal continuation for both systems is the classic marble run made of wood for children aged three and up. The marbles race through the track and conquer tricky obstacles, airy heights, and steep descents. Ramps, tubes, speed curves, and sound funnels encourage children to experiment with different speeds and heights. Children plan, build, rearrange, and repeatedly discover new things. Through play, they develop an initial understanding of basic statics and three-dimensional thinking.

HABA marble runs grow with children
HABA's marble runs are notable because they grow with children and can be expanded and adapted to their age with interesting supplementary sets. As children get older, they like to experiment more. They quickly discover that curves, slopes and height affect the rolling of the marble. By trying out, rebuilding and repeating, children are introduced to basic physical laws. The HABA marble run systems are precisely tailored to the age and the different needs and abilities of their respective target groups and should therefore be regarded as self-contained systems. When the little builders outgrow the target age for HABA Kullerbü or My First Marble Run, it is still possible to continue the marble fun with the classic marble run.
Can the HABA marble run systems be combined with each other?
The HABA marble run systems are precisely tailored to the age and the different needs and abilities of the respective target group … and should therefore be regarded as self-contained systems.
Nevertheless, there are various ways to combine My First Marble Run, the Kullerbü play system and the classic HABA marble run with one another.
The extra-large, non-swallowable wooden balls (Ø 4.6 cm) that are included in My First Marble Run and the Kullerbü marble run are specifically adapted to the wide straights, curves and ramps of these two systems. In comparison, the tracks of the classic HABA marble run have a significantly narrower milled groove through which the quick colorful marbles (Ø 1 cm) can roll.
If My First Marble Run or the Kullerbü marble run are combined with the classic HABA marble run to create a new, larger marble run construction, the following should be noted:
Only the small marbles can roll through the entire construction; the large wooden balls cannot. For this reason it is important that the classic HABA marble run always forms the starting point of the newly created marble run construction. While the curves, straights and ramps from all three systems can be flexibly combined with each other, some effects cannot or can only be combined to a limited extent. Two examples: Only the large wooden balls can roll through the large hill-and-valley ramp or the looping ramp — both Kullerbü elements — whereas the small marbles cannot. Through other Kullerbü elements, such as the windmill ramp, the marbles can of course roll through without any problem; however, unlike the large Kullerbü wooden balls, they cannot trigger the corresponding effect. The reason: their diameter is too small to set the windmills in motion.
