The Lion's Den: Information about the successful VOX start-up show
By stepping into the Lion's Den, the candidates hope to convince at least one of the five jury members and thus negotiate profitable deals. But the lionesses and lions – successful entrepreneurs and media professionals themselves – must first be convinced! Those who manage to do so have reason to be happy.
Award-winning TV format
Since 2014, a large number of candidates have already been seeking support from prominent investors. And the founders' show, which received the German Television Award in 2016 in the category "Best Factual Entertainment", has by now achieved cult status among many viewers. The now 9th season of The Lion's Den also airs on VOX in prime time – Mondays at 8:15 PM.

Carsten Maschmeyer is one of Germany's best-known business personalities. Shortly after finishing secondary school he discovered his passion for the financial sector and expanded the finance company he founded in record time into an M-DAX corporation with 10,000 employees. In addition, the Munich resident works as a speaker at universities, conferences or corporate events and shares his broad business expertise with others.
The native of South Tyrol Dr. Georg Kofler studied journalism and political science at the University of Vienna. He can look back on a long career in the media industry. Kofler initially worked as an advisor to the Director General at the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) and later moved to the KIRCHGRUPPE in Munich. In 1989 Kofler launched the TV channel PROSIEBEN, which he expanded into PROSIEBEN MEDIA AG and took public in 1997.
Nico Rosberg is known to a wide motorsport audience. In 2016 he won the Formula 1 World Championship and ended his motorsport career. Rosberg, born in Wiesbaden in 1985, is also an entrepreneur and investor in the area of greener mobility.
Nils Glagau is the owner and managing director of the family business Orthomol (micronutrients and dietary supplements). The trained ethnologist conducted research in Central America on Maya culture as well as in Tibet and Nepal on Buddhism.
Since 2016, Ralf Dümmel is an investor on The Lion's Den. He began his career more than 30 years ago at the trading company 'DS Produkte'. Under his leadership, the family business developed into one of the most successful German trading houses.
In the 'Lion's Den', which is located in Cologne, five investor seats are filled per episode. The hit show has been hosted from the beginning by Amiaz Habtu.
